As we approach the end of the year, it’s a time to reflect on all you’ve accomplished throughout 2022 and set new goals for 2023. For many people, taking control of their finances tends to be at the top of their list (year after year).

Whether you’re a proactive planner or a chronic procrastinator, one item you can check off your to-do list is finding a tax preparer to partner with. As both a CFP® and an Enrolled Agent, I pride myself on:

Here is everything you need to know about tax preparation with AFP:

What’s the process?

AFP’s tax preparation process was designed to do all of the heavy lifting for clients. All you need to do is the following:

  • Opt-In: Let me know that you want to work together
  • Upload your documents: Scan/ take photos of your tax documents and securely upload them to my tax portal (using Intuit)
  • Review your returns: Look over your tax returns and electronically sign them (using DocuSign)
  • Pay your invoice: Pay online using your bank account or credit card (using AdvicePay)

Seems pretty simple? That’s because it is and should be!

What’s the cost?

I provide FREE consultations to everyone to review their situation. I’m happy to speak with you whether you are comparing options or have a complex tax scenario. You can book a call here.

Base preparation fees are $300 for Single filers and $400 for Couples. This includes Federal and State filing. Additional fees are below:

$100 – Additional State return$250/ hour – IRS Representation
$100 – FinCEN 114 (FBAR)$250/ hour – Business Tax returns
$200 – per Schedule C, E, or H$250/ hour – Married Filing Separately
$250/ hour – Schedule D reconciliation$250/ hour – 2023 Tax Planning

As for important dates to keep in mind, the IRS projects the 2022 tax season to officially begin on January 30th. However, most financial institutions have until February 28th to mail your tax documents to you.
